Zum aktuellen Stand der Olympischen Spiele in Rio aus österreichischer Sicht.

Da hilft kein Jammern und kein Winseln,
weit besser sind die Fidschi Inseln!
Das ist die traurige Bilanz,
wohl weit entfernt von Pomp und Glanz!

Statt großem sportlichen Erlebnis,
gab’s vielfach nur ein “Staatsbegräbnis”
für Hoffnungen, die uns getragen,
die schnell zerronnen im Versagen.

Doch will man niemanden beneiden,
wir bleiben weiterhin bescheiden,
und treten für die These ein:
Ist wichtig bloß, dabei zu sein!

Wenn wir aus Rio uns “vertschüssen”,
lässt London uns ganz herzlich grüßen!
Wir winken artig, lächeln heiter.
Die Welt bleibt gütig! Dreht sich weiter.
