Das alte Jahr nimmt demnächst Abschied.

„Pscht“ – ich bin das alte Jahr.
Ich mache mich davon!
Es ist mir nämlich völlig klar,
ihr klagt, misstraut mir schon!

Nun ja, ich habe euch geplagt,
und zu viel ist passiert.
Wer meine Leistung hinterfragt,
ist rechtens indigniert!

Ich merkte schmerzlich die Kritik,
die mir zu schaffen machte,
und spürte auch die Politik,
die Streit und Hass nur brachte!

Obwohl ich ehrlich war bemüht,
das Beste stets zu geben,
war mancher viel zu abgebrüht,
die heile Welt zu leben!

Ich lasse euch enttäuscht zurück,
bin müde, abgenützt.
Dem Neuen Jahr wünsch ich viel Glück,
von Gottes Hilfe unterstützt!
