Ein anglikanischer Bischof stößt sich am Wort „Vater“ im Gebet.
Nun geht es „Vater“ an den Kragen,
der im Gebet genannt!
Man soll nicht „Vater unser“ sagen,
das wäre zu genant.
Zu dominant sei dieses Wort,
es sei zutiefst brutal.
Man wünscht es aus der Bibel fort,
„Gott Vater“ war einmal!
Wohin das führt, ich weiß es nicht!
Wird alles bald verboten?
Schon hör ich wie ein Priester spricht:
Glaubt nicht an Himmelsboten.
Lasst mich doch beten, wie ich will,
lasst mir doch meine Worte.
Wenn’s sein soll, bete ich halt still
am mir vertrauten Orte!
